Dr. Emanso Okop Umobong has assumed duty as the new Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation. She took over from Mr. Richard Pheelangwah
This is contained in a statement signed by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Funmi Imuetinyan in Abuja.
According to the statement, she promised commitment towards working with all staff to improve water supply, sanitation, irrigation, hydrology, and other key areas under the Ministry.
The statement also pledges to promote efficiency, transparency, and teamwork noting that the Ministry plays an important role in national development, as water supports agriculture, industry, and public health.
It calls on staff to remain dedicated and professional as they work together to achieve the Ministry’s goals

According to the statement, Dr. Umobong commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for the opportunity to serve.
The statement says in his remarks, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, thanked the staff for their support during his tenure and encouraged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor.
Mr. Richard Pheelangwah has been redeployed to the Ministry of Defence.
