The Social Democratic Party, SDP, has revealed that Idris Inuwa, reportedly SDP Assistant National Secretary for the Northwest Zone, is not a card carrying member of the party.
A statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ambassador Rufus Aiyenigba in Abuja while reacting to reports of the expulsion of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El Rufai from the state chapter of the party says he is not an officer at any level of the structures or organ, in the state or at the Zone.
The statement describes him as an impostor, and his gang is not to be taken seriously.
“His claim should, therefore, be dismissed by the public.”
“The attention of the National Secretariat of our great party, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, has been drawn to an impersonation act by one Idris Inuwa who falsely arrogated to himself, the position of Assistant National Secretary, North-West Zone of the party, at a purported “Press Briefing” in Kaduna on Thursday, March 28, 2025”.
The party challenged Inuwa to publish his membership card and the certificate of return issued to him as Assistant Zonal Secretary, North-West, to prove his claim as an officer of the party”
The statement explains that the SDP is not worried by the shenanigans and campaign of calumny against the swelling public rating and appeal of the party as the credible alternative for national retrieval.
Earlier on Friday, Inuwa, at a press conference in Kaduna dismissed El-Rufai’s `purported` defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as mere rumour, insisting that due process was not followed.
“Neither the Chairman of the Kaduna North Local Government Chapter nor the leadership of Unguwar Sarki ward has any record of his membership,” Inuwa said.
