The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, have formally received former PDP National Legal Adviser, Emmanuel Enoidem, into the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The reception took place at a rally in Utu Etim Ekpo, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, where Akpabio described Enoidem’s defection as a “return to the fold” and said it would promote peace and ensure a smooth 2027 election in the state.
Governor Eno noted that Enoidem had previously supported his reelection, but joining the APC would better serve the interests of the state.
Enoidem said his defection aligns with the majority preference of the people and the local political landscape.
The event was attended by political stakeholders, including National Assembly members, state officials, local government chairmen, and traditional and religious leaders.
The APC State Chairman formally presented party symbols to Enoidem.
