Former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Dr Abdulrasheed Maina, has been hospitalised after slumping in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by his media assistant, Mr. Emmanuel Umahi Ekwe, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening as Maina attempted to access his office premises.
The statement says he reportedly lost his balance due to complications from an untreated knee injury, fell, and hit his head on a staircase.
Medical personnel at the scene administered first aid before he was rushed to a private hospital in the Federal Capital Territory, where he is currently under close medical observation.
Doctors have reportedly advised that an air ambulance medical evacuation may be considered if his condition does not stabilise within a short period.
His family has appealed to the public to keep him in their prayers and respect their privacy.
Further updates are expected as developments unfold.
