A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr.Femi Falana has advocated a people centric approach to the fight against corruption for it to be effective.
Mr Falana made the call at the 38th anti corruption situation room organized by the Human and Environmental Development Agenda HEDA Resource Centre in Abuja.
The human rights lawyer called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC and other related agencies to form alliance with the populace who are the actual victims of Corruption to combat the menace.
The Chairman of EFCC, Mr ola Olukoyede said some recoverd assets have been invested in the Nigeria Education Loan fund operated by the federal government
The convener and founder of the Human and Environmental Development Agenda HEDA, Mr. Olanrewaju Suraju urged Nigeria to work hard to sustain the progress it has made in the global corruption index
Earlier, the head of the Kano state Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission Mr. Muyi Magaji urged anti graft agencies to remain steadfast.
The conference with the theme: “Ethics, Integrity, Corruption Risk Assessments, and Anti-Corruption at National and Sub-National Levels in Nigeria, had officials from the Arthur Foundation , the code of conduct bureau, ant corruption experts Professor Isa Rada ad professor Shehu Abdulahi as participants.
