Over two hundred and fifty intending Christian pilgrims have been screened by the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, for the 2025 holy pilgrimage to
At the exercise in Abuja, the Director of the FCT Christians Welfare Board, Mrs.Gloria Dandam, stressed that the screening is a critical step in ensuring all prospective pilgrims meet the spiritual, health, and administrative requirements for the sacred journey.
Mrs. Dandam emphasized that the process is to maintain the integrity and spiritual focus of the pilgrimage.
She noted that the screening would not only help verify the eligibility of the applicants but also serve as a means of fostering unity, discipline, and moral uprightness among the intending pilgrims.
“The screening is to ascertain the medical status of Intending Pilgrims, document their checks, and faith-based assessments” she emphasized.
According to her, the Board also used the opportunity to brief the intending pilgrims on the guidelines, expectations, and the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage, emphasizing Nigeria’s commitment to peaceful and responsible religious tourism.

The FCT Director explained that the Board would continue to play a pivotal role in coordinating Christian pilgrimages from the FCT and work closely with the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) to ensure a smooth and fulfilling experience for all participants.
Mrs. Dandam stressed that the 2025 pilgrimage promises to be a spiritually enriching journey for those who successfully complete the screening process.

On his part, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite represented by a principal planning officer in the Commission, Baba Amegua who stressed that pilgrimage is a spiritual journey urged the pilgrims to represent the nation well by abiding by all norms and values of the host countries
Some of the intending, pilgrims Mrs Elizabeth Babatunde and Steven Agbo stressed that the pilgrimage will transform them spiritually and reinforce their conviction as what they read in the scriptures will be seen physically hence it will increase their faith.
