The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it will investigate alleged corruption and mismanagement of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) allocations by some vice-chancellors of public universities.
ASUU President, Professor Chris Piwuna, raised the concern in Abuja, noting that despite increased funding to universities, some institutions have not utilised the resources effectively.
He said the union would intensify scrutiny of university leadership to ensure proper accountability, particularly in the management of TETFund-supported projects.
Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, backed the move, saying the Federal Government would work with ASUU to ensure that funds allocated to tertiary institutions are properly managed.
TETFund provides supplementary funding for infrastructure, research, and academic development in public universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
