As part of efforts to entrench quality assurance in the education sector, the Federal Government has inaugurated five implementation committees on quality education and learning outcomes.
It also inaugurated five other committees to develop the framework for a new Girl-Child Initiative called Luminah, to address critical educational challenges, particularly for girls across Nigeria, such as access to education and the opportunity to excel academically.
At the event in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa explained that the move was geared towards eradicating the out of school children syndrome and repositioning the sector for effective service delivery.
While calling for collaboration among the stakeholders to achieve the desired objective, the Minister urged members of the Committees to bring their experiences to bear on the assignment for national development.
“The success of these initiatives does not rest solely on government efforts. It requires the unwavering support of all stakeholders-
educators, parents, development partners, the private sector, and civil society. Education is a shared responsibility, and together, we must continue
to push the boundaries of innovation, inclusion, and excellence”
“I urge you to approach this
assignment with utmost dedication, professionalism, and a sense of purpose”
Dr. Alausa pledged to provide all the necessary resources and institutional support to the Committees to fulfil their mandate.
Members of the Committees were drawn from the Ministries of Education, Women Affairs, Humanitarian Affairs, Trade and Investment as well as the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA.
