The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating socio-economic development in Bauchi State and the wider North-East region through sustained intervention programmes and strategic partnerships.
The Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmadu, gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed at the Government House, Bauchi, alongside the Board and Management of the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
The Minister said the visit was part of a policy-driven oversight and project assessment tour aimed at inspecting ongoing projects and commissioning completed ones executed by the NEDC across key sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure and commerce.

He explained that the delegation would undertake a comprehensive tour of communities across the state to evaluate project implementation, ensure compliance with quality standards and strengthen accountability mechanisms in line with the Federal Government’s regional development objectives.
Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmadu commended the Bauchi State Government for its collaboration with federal agencies, particularly in the education sector, noting visible improvements in public school infrastructure and learning facilities.
In his response, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the Federal Government and its agencies to fast-track development initiatives.
He described the engagement as significant, especially as Bauchi State marks its golden jubilee anniversary, stressing that sustained federal-state collaboration remains essential for peacebuilding, economic growth and regional integration.
The Governor assured the NEDC delegation of continued support and an enabling environment to ensure effective project execution, transparency and maximum impact on communities across the state.
