The federal government is partnering state governments to train youths on jewellery making for self-reliance and to boost the economy towards achieving the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Mary Ogbe stated this during a visit to the Laurel Miners Jewellery Training Center in Abuja.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations Department in the Ministry, Kania Maliki.
According to the statement, Dr. Ogbe, who explains that the training will impact on the Nigerian economy through the mining sector, encourages the students to take the training seriously so as to better their future.

“You should not learn the skills and throw it away. That is why there is a method of selection so that the training is valuable.”
It emphasizes that the purpose of her visit is for the Ministry to support the development of the Jewellery training Centre, which is in line with the President’s mandate.

According to the statement, the Permanent Secretary expresses appreciation to the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr Dele Alake, for his support so far.
The statement says earlier, the Consultant and head of the Laurel Jewellery Training Centre, Mr. Tope Adebanjo stresses that the training will help create jobs and galvanize the industry for export of Nigerian made Jewelries, which can be sold locally and internationally.
