Five new Commissioners have been sworn-in by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the Plateau State.
Performing the Swearing-in ceremony, in Jos, Governor Caleb Mutfwang charged them to justify their appointments by ensuring that they key into the Time is Now ideology for the transformation of the State.
Governor Mutfwang stressed that injecting new hands was a routine by the Government aimed at reinvigorating its activities to reflect the values and aspirations of its people.
He announced plans to reassign portfolios to the commissioners and announced the merger of the former Ministry of Education for Secondary and Tertiary institutions into one in addition to the creation of a Ministry for Livestock Development.
Governor Mutfwang also inaugurated the Governing Boards of Tertiary Institutions in the State and admonished them to use their wealth of experiences and connections towards making the Institutions Centre of Excellence.
Responding on behalf of the Chairmen and members of the Boards, Board Chairman of the Plateau State University, PLASU Professor William Qurix described their appointments as a milestone towards the development of the educational sector and assured that the councils would focus on creating the education of the future.
