The General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army Sokoto, Maj. Gen. Ibikunle Ajose says teamwork is key for any effective combat operation.
Ajose, who is also Commander Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, gave the charge at the closing ceremony of a 5-day Operations Planning Cadre held in the state.
Represented by Chief of Staff, 8 Division Headquarters, Brig. Gen. Abubakar Suru, Ajose urged participants to practice knowledge gained on implementation of strategic leadership skills as well as professionalism in their respective formations.
He expressed optimism that the training had equipped them with necessary tools of operational planing and problem solving stressing that they have crucial roles in shaping the outcomes of security operations.
He explained that the ability to effectively counter evolving threats depends on leadership, decision-making and coordinated skills on those at the frontline in the conduct of military operations,
The GOC said the training and experience shared have empowered the officers with the requisite expertise to lead effectively in fighting Insurgency.

According to him, the efforts was inline with the Chief of Army Staff vision to cultivate the cadre of officers with enhanced knowledge and skills as well as professionalism in approaching all issues.
He advised them to ensure periodic reviews of their pass operations in a bid to ensuring future successes.
