Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the constitution of a committee to investigate and ascertain the root causes of the devastating fire incident at a Qur’anic school in Kaura Namoda local government area that killed at least Seventeen students few days ago.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada in Zamfara.
The statement says the committee will assess the level of damages and to recommend measures to be taken to prevent future recurrence of such unfortunate incidents.
It explains that the committee will also suggest appropriate support for the affected Petersons in order to facilitate recovery.
According to the statement, Insights from the report of the committee will also help the government to implement proactive safety measures across other Qur’anic schools and public places in the state, in line with the national fire safety code.
According to the statement, the SSG revealed that, Professor Jafaru Makau Kaura will serve as Chairman of the committee among other thirteen members.
The committee is to commence activity immediately.
