The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on Friday officially commissioned the Dodore Islamic Centre and Mosque in Yola, a project led by the National Security Adviser to the President, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
Governor Fintiri, who was the Special Guest of Honour, performed the two Rak’ah Jumu’ah prayer at the mosque before leading the commissioning ceremony.
He was accompanied by top state officials and other dignitaries.
The centre features a 774-capacity Jumu’ah Mosque, a fully equipped Islamiyya school, administrative offices, and other facilities designed to serve the community’s spiritual and educational needs.
Islamic scholars, including Sheikh Bala Lau, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalifa, and Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, encouraged the Muslim community to use the centre for worship and community development.
The Lamido of Adamawa, represented by the Galadima Adamawa, and the Chairman of the occasion, Ambassador Hassan Adamu, praised the project as a historic milestone and a testament to Mallam Ribadu’s commitment to the community.
The commissioning concluded with prayers for peace, progress, and sustained development in Adamawa State and Nigeria.
