Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Education Secretaries for the fourteen local government areas of Zamfara State.
This is contained ina statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, Ibrahim Musa Maizare in Zamfara.
The statement describs the initiative as a crucial step in the governor’s commitment to improving education standards across the state.
It explains that the appointments aim to enhance educational quality and ensure effective administration within the sector.
According to the statement, the newly appointed Education Secretaries include Mika’ilu Abarshi – Anka Local Government Mustapha Ibrahim Bakura, Abbas Yusuf Birnin Magaji, Suleman Umar – Bukuyyum, Murtala Ibrahim – Bungudu, Halliru Garba – Gummi Local government.
Others Isah Musa – Gusau, Muhammad Bashir – Kaura Namoda Lawal Ibrahim Janbako – Maradun, Aliyu Ashiru – Maru, Umar Nomau – Shinkafi, Aminu Muhammad Tukur – Talata Mafara, Abdurrahman Aliyu – Tsafe and Abdullahi Iliyasu – Zurmi local government.
The statement emphasizes that the selection process was rigorous, involving a comprehensive computer-based test, along with oral and written examinations.
It stresses that Governor Lawal’s administration remains committed to a merit-based selection process, ensuring that the appointments are free from favoritism or bias.

It adds that the newly appointed Education Secretaries are expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to drive positive change in Zamfara’s education sector.
