Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state has charged Corps members serving in the state to pay more attention to agriculture to enhance their welfare and boost the economy of the state.
The Governor made the call at the opening of Orientation course for 2024 Batch C Stream Two Corps members at Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre local government area of the state.
He described the NYSC as a symbol of national unity which has continued to draw people of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds together to render selfless service to the nation.
Governor Uzodimma who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt Dr. Emeka Ukaegbu urged the Corps members to be diligent adding that his administration will reward those with outstanding performance during the service.
The Imo state Coordinator of the NYSC Mrs. Rachel Idaewor urged the youths to be law abiding noting that adequate arrangement has been put in place to ensure hitch-free outing.
A total of 1146 registered Corps Members took oath of allegiance administered by Justice Theophilus Nzeukwu of the state high court.
