The Wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has called for stronger collaboration among government, development partners, traditional and religious leaders, and the private sector to promote the empowerment of women and girls.
In a message to mark the 2026 International Women’s Day, Hajiya Huriyya said investing in women through access to education, resources and mentorship is essential for building stronger families and communities.
She noted that women play vital roles in social and economic development, stressing that empowering them is both a moral responsibility and a strategic investment for sustainable growth.

The Zamfara First Lady also assured that her office would intensify initiatives aimed at supporting women and girls in areas such as health, education, skills development and economic empowerment.
She encouraged women across the state to remain resilient and continue contributing to the development of Zamfara State and the nation.
Hajiya Huriyya also urged citizens to use the remaining days of Ramadan to pray for peace, stability and prosperity in Zamfara State and Nigeria.
