The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will close on February 26, with no extension to the deadline.
As of February 17, over 1.5 million candidates had registered nationwide, though JAMB noted that many centres are operating below capacity, signalling that thousands of eligible candidates have yet to enrol.
The Board emphasised that the sale of e-PINs ends at midnight on February 26, while registration at accredited CBT centres closes on February 28.
JAMB warned that late registration could lead to avoidable difficulties and urged candidates to act promptly to secure their participation.
The examination is part of a coordinated national calendar, and adherence to deadlines is critical for smooth progression into Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
