The Kano State Government has assured residents that the lingering Emirate tussle in the state will soon be resolved, with concrete measures already in place to address the matter amicably and restore lasting peace.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, gave the assurance while speaking with journalists in Kano.
He said the state government remains committed to dialogue and peaceful engagement with all stakeholders to prevent the issue from generating further tension.
Comrade Waiya explained that the government’s approach is guided by respect for the rule of law, traditional institutions, and the collective interest of the people of Kano State, adding that the matter will not be allowed to distract the administration from its core responsibilities.
On the recent defection of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress, APC, the commissioner said the move would bring increased dividends of democracy to the state through closer alignment with the Federal Government and improved access to development projects.
He noted that the decision of the Deputy Governor not to defect remains a personal choice, while reaffirming the state government’s commitment to governance, unity, and development.
Comrade Waiya urged residents to remain calm and supportive as efforts continue to move the state forward.
