The Northwest Development Commission NWDC is to partner Kano state governments to achieve it mandate.
The Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Isma’il Yakawada stated this during a courtesy visit to the Kano state governor, ABBA Yusuf in Kano.
He said the NWDC aims to ensure the betterment and development of Northwest states, with a focus on addressing pressing challenges such as insecurity, hunger, poverty, and malnutrition.
He solicited for the needed support and collaboration of Kano state government to achieve the task ahead.
Responding, the Kano state Governor Abba Yusuf commended President Bola Ahmad Tinubu for establishing the NWDC and the decision to locate the commission’s headquarters in Kano without considering political affiliations.
The Governor reassured the commitment of the Kano State Government to supporting the commission’s goals, acknowledging the timely establishment of the NWDC in addressing the region’s challenges.
The Governor also Allocated a letter of Grant for the parmenent site of the Commission in Kano.
“We’ve already provided a befitting Land which will serve for the building the office accomodations of the this noble commission ”
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf maintained that the Northwest region faces significant challenges, including insecurity, kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities.
“The NWDC’s establishment is expected to help alleviate these issues, promoting economic growth, social cohesion, and improved living standards.”
He urged the commission to work up the expectations of the general populace of the region.
