The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya, has announced the restoration of 85% of the responsibilities taken away from the Ministry of Information.
This move aims to revitalize the ministry and enhance its effectiveness in the state.
According to Waiya, the restoration of responsibilities is a significant step towards strengthening the ministry and improving its service delivery.
He noted that the ministry has already commenced the introduction of modern strategies to enhance information dissemination in Kano State.
Some of the initiatives announced by Waiya include the establishment of a Kano Citizens Platform, which will provide a channel for citizens to contribute to the state’s development.
“The ministry will also organize quarterly interactive sessions between the government and citizens to address their concerns and aspirations”
The commissioner explained that, the ministry will partner with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) across the 44 Local Government Areas to serve as good governance ambassadors.
Waiya also highlighted the state government’s priorities, including economic development, education, and the repatriation of street children.
He noted that the government has prioritized the economy through independent power supply to revamp industries and is seeking partnerships in the power sector.
