To support and improve the welfare of staff, the Kano State government has launched Multi-purpose Cooperative Society in the state.
The commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, made this known while inaugurating members of the committee in Kano.
According to Waiya, the cooperative society has been duly registered, and a bank account has been opened to ensure its smooth operation.
He highlighted that, to achieve this, he has reached an agreement with food vendors to supply food items at subsidized prices for staff members.
The commissioner also inaugurated a committee to oversee the society’s activities, with Shitu Muhammad as Chairman and Jibrin Sani as Secretary.
Comrade Waiya donated the sum of one million naira as take off grant for the cooperative, forty thousand naira in cash to each staff member as part of a Ramadan welfare package.
Waiya stated that,, this gesture aligns with his commitment to staff welfare, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
