Five hundred women in Kogi State have benefited from the empowerment program of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The empowerment program was held simultaneously in the north central zone of Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory.
The items presented were
Deep-Chest Freezers, Maxi Gas Cookers With Ovens, Generators, and Industrial Grinding Machines.
At the presentation of the items at the Muhammad Buhari Square, Lokoja, Wife of the President, and the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, Senator Oluremi Tinubu said the program was made possible through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.

Represented by Wife of the Governor of Kogi State and State Coordinator of RHI, Hajiya Sefinat Ododo, Senator Oluremi disclosed that the empowerment program would benefit Eighteen Thousand, Five Hundred women across the six geopolitical zones of the Country.
According to Senator Tinubu, the South-South Zone will be the next to
benefit from the empowerment items.
While identifying economic empowerment as a core objective which the Renewed Hope Initiative has consistently delivered on for women and youths across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, the First Lady charged the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously to start and grow their businesses.
Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire who was represented by the State’s Special Adviser on SDGs, Mr Musa Usman said the program was not just about distributing empowerment items but to also foster economic independence and create opportunities for women to thrive.
Princess Adejoke maintained that the Sustainable Development Goals office remains committed to women’s economic empowerment, encouraging the beneficiaries to make the most ot the opportunity.
She praised the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and their partners for their exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the course.
In a keynote address, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development,
Hajiya Fatima Momoh applauded the wife of the president, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her magnanimity towards women and youths in the country.
Hajiya Fatima said the event represented the unwavering commitment of Senator Tinubu towards the betterment of the country.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Esther Salifu from Olamaboro Local Government,, Mrs Kaka Abubakar from Lokoja Local Government and Ramatu Ahmed from Okene Local Government, appreciated Senator Oluremi Tinubu for always coming through for woman.
They noted that the First Lady has demonstrated true motherhood by the various contributions of her Initiative, RHI especially in the areas of Agriculture, Education, Economic Empowerment and Social Investment and promised to use the items to empower themselves and their communities.
