The Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Kayode Alabi, has urged intending Christian pilgrims from the state to be good ambassadors while on pilgrimage to Jordan and Israel.
Speaking through Reverend Timothy Akangbe, the Senior Special Adviser on Religion, Christian Matters, during a seminar organized by the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, advised pilgrims to safeguard the state’s integrity and conduct themselves responsibly abroad.
Pilgrims were also advised to prepare for the cold winter conditions, choose appropriate clothing, and be mindful of local foods, which may differ from what they are used to in Nigeria.
Evangelist Timothy Opoola, Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, emphasized adherence to rules and regulations of both Nigeria and the host countries.
He confirmed that 67 pilgrims will be airlifted this month for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage.
The seminar highlighted the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage while stressing the importance of preparation, discipline, and cultural awareness during the journey.
