Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has mourned the death of a forest guard, Mr. Omotosho Olawuyi Samuel, who was killed during a confrontation with suspected kidnappers in Koro community, Ekiti Local Government Area.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, Governor AbdulRazaq described the late forest guard as a gallant patriot who gave his life protecting his community and the state from criminal elements.
He commended the courage of forest guards and local vigilantes who confronted the fleeing kidnappers, highlighting their role in the fight against banditry.
As a mark of recognition for Mr. Samuel’s sacrifice, the Governor approved a financial support of ten million naira for the family of the deceased, describing him as a hero in the people’s struggle against insecurity.
Governor AbdulRazaq also extended condolences to the family and colleagues of the fallen officer, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
