Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has directed the State Emergency Management Agency to provide immediate humanitarian support for victims of the recent terrorist attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, which claimed at least seventy-five lives.
Governor AbdulRazaq, who visited the community, sympathized with the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Sheu Omar, families of the victims, and residents.

He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of a battalion of soldiers under Operation Savannah Shield to restore security and prevent further attacks.
Describing the incident as a massacre, the Governor explained that the victims were killed for rejecting a strange extremist ideology.
He assured that affected families would be enumerated and supported, and security operations would cover neighbouring areas to improve safety.
The Emir of Kaiama expressed gratitude to the Governor and the Federal Government for the swift response, while praying for the repose of the victims’ souls.

Governor AbdulRazaq was accompanied by the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, security chiefs, and other government officials.
