The Labour Party says its ongoing internal reforms are gaining momentum as ward congresses have commenced across the country.
This is contained in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in Abuja.
The statement explains that the exercise which marks the first phase of a broader restructuring effort, is taking place in all states except Abia.
According to the statement, the ward congresses commence today, Tuesday, local government congresses will follow December 4th while State congresses will hold Saturday, December 6, 2025
It clarifies that the Abia congress was suspended solely due to an interim court order restraining the exercise.
It notes that although it disagrees with the jurisdiction of the Abia State High Court on the matter, its legal team has initiated processes to vacate the order so that the congress can hold at a later date.
According to the statement, reports from monitoring teams deployed nationwide indicate that the congresses are proceeding smoothly, with high participation recorded in several wards.
The statement also expresses concern over what it describes as orchestrated attempts by some individuals to destabilize its progress.
It warns that the deliberate publication of false information capable of causing public fear violates Section 59 of the Criminal Code and could attract serious legal consequences.
The statement, the party restates commitment to repositioning the organisation under the leadership of Julius Abure, while urging members and supporters to remain focused as preparations for future electoral engagements continue.
