The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat has called on Lagos residents to continue in the spirit of Ramadan by showing compassion to one another.
Dr Hamzat made the call after observing the Eid prayer at the Dodan Barracks Prayer Ground in Ikoyi.
He said Muslims needed to continue to show examples of good behaviour even after the month of Ramadan.
Leading the Eid prayer, the Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaimon Abou-Nolla said the just ended Ramadan reminded the Muslim faithful of the need for discipline, charity and perseverance in the face of challenges.
He urged the Muslim faithful to continue to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan in their daily lives by living in peace with everyone and making the country better.
Dignitaries at the prayer ground included former Lagos State Governor and Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, the State Head of Service, Mr Olabode Agoro, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and White Cap Chiefs.
