The Lagos state government has concluded plans with a development partner, Circuits of Africa Group to develop its first state -of -the -art race track.
Plans for the standard race track facility were announced during a meeting in Lagos to formalise agreement for the project between the Circuits of Africa Group and the Lagos State Government.
The President of Circuits of Africa Group, Siu-Anne Marie – Gill, said the project transcended motorsport and was about driving economic development, expanding infrastructure, and stimulating a new wave of talent in Africa.
He commended a son of President Bola Tinubu, Mr. Seyi Tinubu and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. James Faleke for supporting the project.
Officials of the state government which participated in the meeting included the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Sam Egube, the Commissioner for Physical Planning & Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, the Director General of the Sports Commission, Mr Lekan Fatodu and the Surveyor General of the State, Mr. Ayokunnu Adesina.
