The Lagos State Government has cautioned content creators, skit makers, and social media influencers against producing digital material that could harm children’s dignity, safety, or well-being.
The warning, issued by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development in collaboration with the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, highlighted growing concerns over children’s involvement in online content that exposes them to abuse, exploitation, or inappropriate situations.
The government stressed that such practices violate the Child’s Rights Law and the Criminal Law of Lagos State, and urged creators to consider the long-term psychological and social impact on minors.
Authorities called on all digital media producers to ensure responsible content creation that protects children, emphasizing that safeguarding minors is both a legal and moral duty.
