The New Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu has promised to reposition the scheme to meet the demand of contemporary society and tackle the challenges ahead.
He stated this when he asumed official Duties at the Yakubu Gowon’s House, headquarters of the Corps in Abuja.
Brigadier General Nafiu said repositioning the schemes will entail matching job of Corps members during their service with private sector, Improving their welfare and capacity development for the overall development of the scheme.
Earlier, the immediate past Director General of the NYSC Brigadier General Yushau who thank God and staff of the agency for their support said his tenure has left indelible mark on the scheme through improving welfare and security of the Corp Members and staff.
In a remark, the Director of Planning, Research and statistics Dr Ahmed Ikaka assured the New Director General of the staff commitment in providing quality Service to the scheme.
