The Nasarawa State Government has inaugurated a 10,000-hectare cassava industrial hub in Agwada, Kokona Local Government Area, as part of efforts to accelerate industrialisation and boost agricultural value chains.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, who performed the groundbreaking ceremony, described the project as a strategic component of the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy, aimed at transforming the state into a leading agro-industrial hub.
The Governor commended the investors for choosing Nasarawa as the host state and appreciated the host community for its cooperation.
He noted that the project’s out-grower scheme would significantly benefit local farmers by integrating them into the cassava value chain.
Governor Sule assured the company of his administration’s full support to ensure the successful implementation of the project, reiterating his commitment to attracting more investments into the state.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the investing company, Mr. Cheta Udezue, explained that the initiative would cover 10,000 hectares in phases, beginning with an initial 500 hectares.
He described the project as a full-value-chain cassava industrial hub designed to serve as an industrial corridor, climate-resilient ecosystem, and model for national development.
Also speaking, Managing Director of the Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA), Ibrahim Abdullahi, attributed the growing influx of investors into the state to the deliberate investment-driven policies of the Sule administration.
The event featured goodwill messages from dignitaries, including Mr. Silvester Oho Ayih and other stakeholders, who described the project as a milestone in Nasarawa’s agricultural and economic transformation agenda.
