The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, says it will present its Statement of Account at its third National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting in Abuja on Monday.
The party says the move is part of its commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of its finances.
It is also challenging other political parties, particularly the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to adopt similar measures in disclosing their financial activities.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the NDC says its finances would have been stronger but for the inability of many of its candidates to afford Expression of Interest forms.
The party claims that about 80 per cent of its candidates could not pay for the forms due to the economic difficulties facing Nigerians.
It says the forms were subsequently provided free of charge to the affected candidates.
According to the statement, the NDC will also use the NEC meeting to unveil its National Campaign Council, NCC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It explains that the council will cover the Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship and State Houses of Assembly campaigns.
The statement adds that its candidates for the various elective positions would also be presented with their Certificates of Return.
The NEC meeting form part of activities for its preparations for the 2027 elections.
It states that the party is ready to offer Nigerians what it called altruistic leadership, while maintaining that “A New Nigeria is Possible.”
