Two thousand Internally Displaced Persons IDPs in Seven Communities of Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro Federal Constituency have been provided with relief materials to cushion the effect of their hardship.
The materials which was provided by the North East Development Commission NEDC were distributed across the IDPs at Boto and Lere in Tafawa Balewa, Boi and Bungam in Bogoro, as well as Dot, Tsohon Gari and Wandi in Dass local government area.
Speaking at the symbolic presentation of the materials which comprise food and non foods items, the Commission’s Deputy Director Resettlements and Early Recovery Muhammad Sani Umar said the materials include one thousand bags of 25kg rice.
Others are seven hundred and thirty two cartoon of spaghetti, one hundred and eighty cartoon of cooking oil, about one thousand five hundred sets of children’s clothes and seven hundred and thirty two males textile materials.
The rest are seven hundred and thirty two female’s wrappers, over seven hundred and thirty rubber mats as well as seven hundred and thirty two blankets.
Alhaji Umar said the gesture was a response to the request from the House of Representatives through the member representing the area to bring relief materials to the IDPs residing in the area.

He explained that the Commission has recently sent a delegation on an assessment and inventory taking visits to all the communities.
Receiving the materials the member representing the area Jafaru Gambo Leko appreciated God, commended the commission and other critical stakeholders from the Constituency for the support being given to him at all times.
