The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA has presented relief items to Zamfara state government to support the victims of the recent fire incident that occurred in Kaura Namoda at Qur’anic school.
The Director General of the agency, Hajiya Zubaida Umar while delivering the items in Kauran Namoda local government, said the gesture was a demonstration of Federal Government concern to the plight of the victims.
The Director General represented by the Head of NEMA, Sokoto Operations Office, Mr Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi said the relief support includes food items such as bags of rice, maizes, vegetable oil and non-food items like detergents as well as medical supplies.
Hajiya Zubaida Umar had earlier visited the victims of the incident who are still receiving treatment at Khadijah Women and Children Welfare Clinic, Kaura Namoda.

At the clinic, the representative of the NEMA DG has also presented medical supplies to the Primary Health Care for the continuous treatment of the victims.
She also led a team of joint stakeholders including representatives of Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency ZEMA, Zamfara state ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Kaura Namoda Local Government Council to the scene of the incident to commiserate and condoled the Qur’anic school for the loss of students.
The items donated by NEMA were jointly received on behalf of the state Government by Executive Secretary ZEMA, represented by the Director Disaster Control, Hassan Usman Dauran, Emir of Kaura-namoda, Alh. Sanusi Muhammad Asha as well as Commissioner, Zamfara state Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary. Muhammed Bashir Maradun
Earlier, the Emir of Kauran Namoda, Alhaji Sanusi Asha promised to monitor the distribution of the food items to victims by the Emergency Response Committee set by the State and Local governments.
