The Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, has called for stronger legislative and policy measures to enhance women’s inclusion in governance and decision-making in Nigeria.
In a message to mark International Women’s Day, Senator Usman congratulated women across the world, particularly Nigerian women, whom she described as resilient and hardworking.
She noted that achieving meaningful national development requires the full participation and representation of women in all spheres of public life.
According to her, deepening women’s inclusion through deliberate policies and legislative support remains essential for Nigeria to reach its full potential.
Senator Usman added that the advancement of women’s rights and opportunities has remained a key priority for her, including during her time in the Nigerian Senate.
She therefore urged stakeholders to intensify efforts toward creating an enabling environment that allows women to contribute more effectively to governance and national development.
She also extended her best wishes to women across the country as they celebrate International Women’s Day.
