Nigeria and the State of Palestine have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and enhancing consular cooperation during a meeting in Abuja.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, received the Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria, Muhannad Halmouri, to review matters of mutual interest, including humanitarian concerns and regional developments, with particular focus on the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
Ambassador Halmouri conveyed greetings from the Palestinian leadership, expressed appreciation for Nigeria’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, and highlighted security challenges and constraints on humanitarian access in Palestinian territories.

He also proposed a visit by the Palestinian Foreign Minister to Nigeria for high-level discussions.
Responding, Ambassador Tuggar reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with the Palestinian people, emphasizing the country’s commitment to justice, peaceful coexistence, and adherence to international law.
He assured that the issues raised would be addressed through appropriate diplomatic channels in line with Nigeria’s foreign policy principles.
Both sides described the engagement as cordial and productive, highlighting decades of warm relations and a shared resolve to sustain dialogue, cooperation, and humanitarian suppor
