The Nigerian Armed Forces and the Government of Switzerland have agreed to sustain and strengthen defence collaborations, with particular focus on non-kinetic approaches to security challenges.
This followed a courtesy visit by the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Patrick Egloff, to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Ambassador Egloff reaffirmed Switzerland’s commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives, peacebuilding, and institutional partnerships that address the root causes of insecurity in Nigeria.
General Oluyede welcomed the Ambassador, appreciating Switzerland’s contributions to non-kinetic security efforts, and stressed that such collaborations complement ongoing military operations.
The Defence Chief expressed optimism that the partnership would be further strengthened, yielding impactful outcomes in peace, stability, and strategic cooperation between the two nations.

The engagement highlights the importance both countries place on constructive, collaborative approaches to security and development.
