The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack says the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy has the potential to contribute to the national and global economy by promoting responsible, ethical, and inclusive governance approaches.
She stated this during the 2025 Global Government Summit in Singapore.
Mrs. Walson-Jack explained that the Service-Wise GPT, is a user-centric AI-powered assistant designed to revolutionise public service delivery in Nigeria.
“The Service-Wise GPT is a testament to the commitment of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government to leveraging technology for the public good”
According to her, the Service-Wise GPT, once operational, would automate policy drafting of official memos and provide real-time policy research assistance that will reduce administrative task hours for civil servants, improving compliance, productivity and decision-making across ministries.
She stressed that the AI Tool, currently in its Beta version, provides instant access and simplifies the referencing of Public Service Rules, Statutory Instruments, Regulations, Guidelines, and other critical information relevant to the operations of the Federal Civil Service.
The Head of the Civil Service shared the results of a 2025 research study in which respondents praised the Service-Wise GPT tool for enabling civil servants to work smarter, faster, and more inclusively while ensuring transparency and accountability.
She revealed that 73% of users saved 2–3 hours daily, and the tool received a 90% user recommendation rate for its efficiency and accessibility.
Mrs Didi Walson-Jack emphasised that the government is dedicated to delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda through an efficient Federal Civil Service, and the Service-Wise GPT is a significant step in this direction.
