The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has warned asthmatic patients and people with other respiratory conditions to take precautions due to dusty weather currently affecting parts of the country.
In its weather outlook released in Abuja, NiMet said dust particles are in suspension, urging the public to remain cautious.
The agency also advised motorists to drive carefully, especially during rainfall, and encouraged airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for safe operations.
NiMet forecast hazy and sunny conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday.
According to the agency, the northern and north-central regions are expected to experience sunny and hazy skies, with moderate to thick dust haze anticipated in parts of the north.
In the southern region, NiMet predicted sunny skies with patches of clouds and chances of isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms, as well as light rains over parts of Ogun, Bayelsa, Rivers, Lagos, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states.
The agency advised residents to stay updated with regular weather information from NiMet to reduce health and safety risks.
