The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi, has retired from service upon attaining the mandatory retirement age and completing his tenure in office.
Dr. Audi formally bowed out during activities marking the 2026 World Civil Defence Day at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja, bringing to a close his leadership which began on March 1, 2021.
He was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
During his time in office, Audi oversaw operations of the paramilitary agency responsible for protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as supporting internal security efforts across the country.
Born on September 30, 1967, in Nasarawa State, Audi holds a PhD in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and a Master’s degree in Public Business Administration from the University of Calabar.
He is also a member of the National Institute.
The Federal Government is yet to announce his successor.
