The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command, has paraded a suspect in a child trafficking case, along with others arrested for various criminal activities, at its Operational Headquarters in Gusau.
The suspect, Jerry Peter, a 31-year-old from Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, was apprehended on January 24, 2026, with five children aged between 8 and 13 years, whom he could not account for.

The children, allegedly being trafficked through Kaduna to Benue and onward to Benin City, Edo State, were rescued, and Peter has been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation.
In addition, the NSCDC paraded 16 suspects arrested between January 21 and 23, 2026, for illegal fuel dealing across the state.

The suspects were caught with over 1,400 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and 390 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), valued at over ₦2 million.
The products were sourced from various local government areas and were sold without the required licences.
Other suspects paraded include individuals arrested for public disturbances, traffic violations, and motorcycle theft.
Three youths were arrested for inciting nuisance in Gusau, and two others were caught with a suspected stolen motorcycle, linked to a syndicate operating between Zamfara and Sokoto states.

The NSCDC has warned residents to avoid criminal activities and called for continued cooperation with security agencies to ensure peace and order in the state.
All investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will face legal action once the investigations are concluded.
