The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the distribution of Ten Thousand professional kits, Scrubs and Crocs to midwives in Northwest Nigeria through her project, the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Speaking at the event in Kaduna state, the First Lady emphasized that the healthcare profession demands more than just fundamental skills and compassion but also requires access to the appropriate tools and infrastructure to enhance service delivery.
Senator Olurenmi Tinubu added that the efforts of midwives and health professionals continue to be pivotal to attaining the reduction of maternal and child mortality in Nigeria.
While commending the leadership and staff of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Mrs Tinubu appealed to Nigerians to keep encouraging health workers for their tireless efforts.
Kaduna State Governor, Malam Uba Sani called for more training and retraining of health workers so that Nigeria can serve the world better in the health sector.
Also speaking at the event, the coordinating minister for health and social welfare, Professor Ali Pate Health, assured that the Nigerian government is doing all it can to close the gap in access to healthcare, especially for pregnant mothers.
The Professional Kits were subsequently presented to the wives of Governors and RHI State coordinators for the seven States in the North West zone by the wife of the President.
