Operation Savannah Shield has commenced operations in Kaima, Kwara State, as part of efforts to address security challenges in the area.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, stated this after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja,
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the swift deployment of security forces to the state.
Governor AbdulRazaq said his visit was to brief the President on the security situation in parts of Kwara State, noting that the immediate directive for troop deployment has already begun yielding positive results.
He confirmed that the commander of Operation Savannah Shield has reported to the state and commenced operations.
According to the governor, the joint deployment of the military and other security agencies is aimed at restoring peace in affected communities and preventing further attacks.
He assured residents that both the Federal and State Governments are working closely to safeguard lives and property, expressing confidence that the ongoing operation will bring lasting stability to Kwara State.
