President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the management, staff, and students of the Federal University Lokoja over the unfortunate passing of five students.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on students engagement, Comrade Asefon Sunday in Abuja.
The statement says the President received the news of this tragic loss with great sadness and shared the pain and grief that this has brought upon the university community, the bereaved families, and the entire nation.
“With deep sorrow, I write on behalf of President Tinubu to extend heartfelt condolences to the management, staff, and students of the Federal University Lokoja over the unfortunate passing of five of your students”.
“Losing such promising young Nigerians, who were on the path to fulfilling their dreams and contributing to the development of our country, is truly heartbreaking.”
According to the statement, President Tinubu urges the university community to take solace in the cherished memories of the departed souls and in the knowledge that their aspirations and legacies will not be forgotten.
It emphasises that the federal government remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Nigerian students.
“We will continue to work towards improving measures that protect our young minds in their pursuit of academic excellence,” Comrade Sunday states.
“On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government of Nigeria, we pray for the peaceful repose of the departed and strength for their families and loved ones to bear this irreparable loss. Please accept our deepest sympathies. ”
