The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has inaugurated its Delta State Caretaker Committee in Asaba, drawing a large gathering of party members, chieftains, and supporters.
Elder Emmanuel Ogidi, South-South Chairman of PDP, urged members to remain focused and loyal, assuring that the party will emerge stronger despite recent defections and ongoing legal disputes.
He commended members for their resilience and reaffirmed that PDP remains people-oriented and committed to defending votes in the 2027 general elections.

PDP leaders, including Dame Esther Uduehi and Chief Ejiofor Onyia, praised the turnout, noting it as proof that the party is alive in Delta State.
They condemned defections as unprincipled, emphasizing that the party built Nigeria and will continue to work towards victory in 2027.
The event also saw the inauguration of an eleven-member Delta State PDP Caretaker Committee, chaired by Professor Sylvester Monye, with a three-month mandate to reposition the party ahead of its elective Congress.
Professor Monye pledged inclusive engagement with all members to rebuild the party for the upcoming elections.
