Some physically challenge persons and residents under the aegis of the “Talakawas Parliament” have appealed to the Edo state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo and Security Agencies to unravel the killers of a deaf and dumb Building Engineer, Mr Efe Ogbeide in the state.
They made this appeal while protesting at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo state Council.
The protesters carried various placards, with inscription” Communities in Edo seems now above the law” 0bazangbo and other communities in Benin/Edo now seems above the law, we need justice for late Efe Ogbeide among others.
Addressing the gathering, spokesperson for group, and Executive Director, Network for the Advancement of Persons with Visible disabilities, Mr Melody Omosah said they were at the NUJ secretariat to inform the world, how a physically challenged deaf and dumb building Engineer, Mr Efe Ogbeide was shot to death several times at a close range while carrying out his professional duties.
Mr Omosah who explained that the late Building Engineer, was a bread winner of his family, was murdered few days ago at Obazagbon Community a suburb of Benin metropolis while carrying out his duties.
He appealed to Governor Monday Okpebholo and Security Agencies in the state to arrest the killers inorder for them to face justice
On his part, Leader of the Talakawas Parliament, Marxist Kola Edokpaye, appealed to the relevant security agencies in Edo state to fish out the murderers of the late Building Engineer, Mr Efe Ogbeide.
Receiving the protesters, Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo state Council, Comrade Andy Egbon called on security agencies to assist in bringing the culprit to book.
When contacted, Edo state Police Public Relations officers, SP Moses Yamu said three persons have arrested and investigation was ongoing.
The late Efe Ogbeide who was murdered few days ago at Obazagbon Community, a suburb of Benin metropolis by some unknown gunmen was survived by a physically deaf and dumb wife with three children.
