Committee Chairman, Dr. Yusuf Gagdi, stated this in Abuja during the budget defence session with the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.
He emphasized that creating a new Agency would be counterproductive.
The Lawmaker, who acknowledged the high cost of maintaining various platforms and jetties of the Navy, pledged to accede to the demand for additional funding for the Navy which he described as the most strategic military outfit of economic value to the survival of the country.
