The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara state has expressed worry over the recent decision by the state government to erect walls against businesses at Challenge, Unity, Post Office, and other strategic business areas in Ilorin.
This is contained in a statement signed by the state chairman of the party, Babatunde Mohammed, in Ilorin.
The statement describes the action as an act of economic sabotage capable of affecting youth population in the state.
It advises the youth entrepreneurs to continue to conduct their activities peacefully.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner for Works and Transport, Abdulquawiy Olododo said that the state government erected the walls to ensure free flow of vehicular traffic and protect pedestrian walk ways on the roads.
The commissioner noted that activities of businesses along the roads had caused auto accident and defaced the state capital for a long time.
