The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has refuted an alleged claims by the National Secretary of APC that the party is in crisis
This is contained in a statement signed by the National Chairman of NNPP Dr. Agbo Major in Abuja.
The statement explains that
there was a slight turbulence orchestrated by political miscreants under the canopy of the kwankwassiya movement for the purpose of running on the platform in the 2023 general elections using an instrument of a memorandum of understanding which has long expired after the election and those members long expelled from the party.
“I read with dismay the recent statement credited to the National Secretary of APC (if true) in which he said he is happy that PDP, LP and NNPP are in crisis therefore further weakening them. Though I am not in position to speak for the two other parties but can only speak for NNPP” he adds
The statement says clearly that NNPP is not in crisis as reported recently by the dailies.
“I watched with dismay the recent Interview where Buba Galadima (self acclaimed whose track records is to divide parties as seen in PDP, APC and CPC in the past) was quoted as accusing the APC of been a nest of corrupt politicians while purporedly speaking as a member of NNPP instead of kwankwassiya group” Dr. Major stresses.
The statement says when asked whether he was corrupt as alleged since he came from the APC in 2022, he answered in the affirmative.
“His long track record of corruption, amongst others were the reasons why he was particularly expelled from NNPP” the NNPP Chairman states.
The statement explains that prior to their coming into party, corruption and corrupt practices in choice of party candidates for elections, management of party funds and general party administration/decision making were the business of all members irrespective of class and status.
“Their shoddy management of funds raised in the 2023 elections from sale of forms and campaign donations led to the recent and ongoing censoring of the party’s accounts and the denial of permission to travel presently suffered by all those who are connected to the ongoing investigation.
“Their insatiable greed and quest for illegal acquisition of public funds led them to illegally relocate the Situation Room where party candidates’ details were uploaded into the INEC server to their personal house located in Maitama to enable them perpetrate their illegality and short change candidates who properly emerged from primaries”
“What I think may have led the National Secretary of APC to make this statement is the recent developments in an FCT High Court where the kwankwassiya group took us before Hon Justice Hassan asking that we be stopped from concluding the ongoing congresses resulting from the recent Abia High Court judgement which directed the party’s Board of Trustees to midwife and establish all other organs of the party to enable it run its activities hitch free.
“The recent attitudes of the erstwhile “transactional” members of our party smacks suspicion of being hired agents of destabilisation and this probably is the reason for the APC National Secretary’s comment and the need for this indept explanation to put the records straight”
The statement calls on Nigerians never to succumb to the antics of these clowns who have done everything possible to keep the party unstable and even discussing possible mergers and alliances with sister political parties.
“We are only saying any discussion with any group outside the Dr Boniface Aniebonam led BOT and the Dr Agbo Major led NWC is not only illegal but constitute a mere waste of valuable time and energy.
